Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor role is strategically vital as it bridges the gap between management and front-line employees, ensuring that organizational goals are achieved efficiently and effectively.  The Production Supervisor will accomplish this by leading, developing and communicating goals and constructive feedback to Production Operators. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

What your day will look like (Or) What will you do:

  • Arrive early to open the building and ensure all equipment and tools are in working order.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Conduct a walkthrough of the production area to confirm readiness for the day’s operations.
  • Coordinate with other team members to address any issues or concerns.
  • Supervise and guide operators in the process of washing steel, and assembly. Ensuring adherence to all quality and safety standards.
  • Monitor production activities to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and address any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Document daily production data and enter it into the Plan vs. Actual system for performance tracking and analysis.
  • Conduct daily huddles to review the previous day’s performance data and discuss areas for improvement.
  • Coach and mentor operators to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety performance, providing constructive feedback and support as needed.
  • Document best practices and update work instructions to standardize processes and improve consistency.
  • Initiate and champion continuous improvement ideas to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Take the lead in updating and improving the Management for Daily Improvement board, ensuring the visibility and accountability for improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvement projects.
  • Take ownership of preventive maintenance for all tools and equipment used in the assembly process, including the  parts washer.
  • Maintain the preventive maintenance book.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and other duties related.
  • Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement Initiatives for safety, quality, and process improvements.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Operate forklift as required.
  • Support safety program.

  • Takes ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Adheres to scheduled working hours, arriving promptly and being present for the entire duration of the shift.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance, minimizing unplanned absences or tardiness.
  • Notifies the manager or appropriate personnel in advance of any planned absences or request for time off.
  • Builds a reputation for dependability and trustworthiness through consistent performance and reliability.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Assembly Skills:

  • Employees will be taught and or qualified to build and check hydraulic cylinder rod guides, pistons, and hydrotubes. 

 Tech Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Database systems.

Other Skills:

  • Job Knowledge: Understands duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understands company mission/values, keeps job knowledge current is in company is critical issues.
